Private by default
With Local Whisper, audio is processed entirely on your Mac and never touches a server. Prefer speed? Groq transcribes in the cloud. Either way: no account, no subscription.
Auto-learn dictionary
Murmur watches your edits. If you correct a word after dictation, it learns the fix for next time.
Verbal corrections
Say "change tomorrow to Thursday" within 60 seconds and Murmur rewrites the text in place. The correction saves to your dictionary.
Spoken punctuation
Say "exclamation point" and get !. Say "new paragraph" and get a line break. Natural punctuation without touching keys.
Filler removal
Ums, uhs, and likes are stripped automatically. What lands in your document is what you meant to say.
iCloud sync
Your custom dictionary syncs across every Mac via iCloud. Add a word on your laptop, it appears on your desktop.
LLM cleanup
Optional LLM pass cleans up self-corrections and adds obvious punctuation. Choose local Ollama for privacy or OpenAI GPT-4o-mini for accuracy. Silent fallback if unavailable.

With Local Whisper, the model runs entirely on your Mac -- audio is recorded, transcribed, and discarded in a fraction of a second, and never leaves the device. Groq is an optional cloud transcriber for when you want more speed. When iCloud sync is enabled, only your dictionary word pairs travel through iCloud -- audio never does.
